Hey Mom! We all wanted to say thank you so much for being the best mother in the whole world.
A few weeks ago we started reminiscing about all the crazy things we made you do when we were kids. There were some pretty ridiculous things, and you never even complained once.
I think I made you do more stupid things than anyone. Like when I wanted to join the Alan Jackson fan club. That was before the internet thing and you had to write them a letter, mail them a check, and then wait a month to get a response.
Or when I played roller hockey and you’d have to drive us to Forest Park, then sit there and wait so you could drive us back home. The worst was when I got into making lanyards, and you had to buy all that lanyard stuff through some mail order catalog. Sorry about that.
I’m not sure what the record is for # of visits to the World of Coke, but you had to be close. It didn’t matter whose class was going on a field trip, you were always one of the first moms to volunteer. And I still respect you for drawing the line and refusing to ride up that long escalator (Escalaphobia=is the fear of escalators.).
Our clothes. No entry discussing crazy things you did for us would be complete without a discussion of clothing. You are an amazing sewer person that sews. Whether it be a smocked dress thing for me (with manly ducks, of course), a reindeer costume for Goob, or an elf outfit for Anna, you always had it covered.
And no matter how many times Goob made you take her socks off and put them back on because they just didn’t feel right, you lovingly obliged.
But even though we eventually outgrew the homemade clothes, you’re no longer a kid-taxi (for most of us anyway…cough-goob-cough), and Caroline learned to fix her own socks, your mastery of motherhood is still amazing. You’re more important to our family today than you’ve ever been. You’re always there for every one of us, wherever that may be. We are amazingly blessed to have a mom who takes care of and prays for her family the way you do. We love you tremendously, and wish you a wonderful Mother’s Day. Thanks Mom!

Hey Fam! Can’t wait to see y’all & celebrate the girls’ birthdays this afternoon!
Thought this was interesting…
Suppose it’s about time we give an update.. WOW.. We continue to try to soak in all that The Lord is teaching through this journey! Robert continues to work in Biloxi while awaiting word on other potential projects… As HE continues to speak to us through our amazing JESUS CALLING devotion book via His Word.. “I am leading you, step by step. Hold My hand in trusting dependence, letting Me guide you through this day. Your future looks uncertain to you, but I have it all figured out. I will show you the next step forward, and the one after that, and the one after that. Relax and enjoy the journey in My Presence, trusting Me to open up the way before you as you go. It is in the present moment that I walk close to you. Keep your focus on My Presence in the present.” Pray with us that we may all truly do just that.. Embrace the moment we’re in! I’ve spent this past week/weekend with Robert in Biloxi, next week I’ll be with my mom, then Robert & I will meet back in Newnan for the next weekend. We’re (hopefully) posting some pictures from Biloxi. There’s really no way any of us can comprehend how Katrina changed life here. Restoration will be a very long process. May we pray for them & their challenges . May we also pray that through our own challenges we will learn to say, “Thank You, Lord, for this opportunity to trust You more.”
